Compost
Landscape waste, grass trimmings, tree limbs, etc., is banned from landfills by Illinois Law. This must be recycled through a proper composting facility.
Compost is plant matter that hs been decomposed and recycled as a fertilizer. Garden waste such as vines, decayed vegetables and fruit can be composted as well as fruit and vegetable scraps. Meat, fish and poultry scraps and bones can NOT be be composted.
