Shingles that contain asbestos need to be removed by a licensed contractor. It can cause serious health risks when fibers are disturbed and become airborne. For more information on asbestos  and information on proper removal procedures contact the Illinois Department of Health.

Place small amounts of asphalt shingles in the garbage. For large amounts, call your hauler to schedule a pick-up or bring to a reuse center:  Always call first!
