Winter Weather Note:   The Recycle Centers close when

the air temperature or wind chill is 0 degrees F or colder


Mulch from Christmas Tree Recycling 

Limited Free Mulch at Some Locations

Free mulch while supplies last; expect it to be cleared by late February.

Bring your own shovel, containers. Sites are not staffed.

Availability not guaranteed; varies by site.

UPDATE 1/26/17:  Mulch available in Rockton, Machesney Park.

Contact Valley View Farms or Williams Tree Farm regarding their availability.

Mulch has already been cleared at Alpine Park, Gambino Park, Martin Park… other sites.

FYI The City of Rockford Public Works/Forestry mulch site on Central Avenue is closed for the winter — view mulch-cam.
